White Jade private swimming pool

Goa is small on a map and surprisingly large in a taxi. Pick the wrong end of it and a holiday turns into a series of long drives. Pick the right one and almost everything you came for is a few minutes away. That is the whole case for where you stay, and it is why all thirty-two of our homes are in North Goa.

Two Goas, not one

Most people who have been will tell you there are two Goas. The south is the slower one: longer, emptier beaches, fewer cafés and bars, and bigger distances between them. It suits a week of doing very little, and it does that well.

The north is where Goa is busy in the good sense. Beaches sit close together, each with its own character. There are cafés worth crossing town for, markets, pubs, clubs and live music. If your group wants choice (a beach in the morning, a long lunch, somewhere lively after dark), the north gives you that without the driving.

Why Anjuna in particular

Twenty-nine of our thirty-two homes are in Anjuna, and that was a choice, not an accident. Anjuna sits in the middle of the stretch most visitors want. Anjuna Beach is a few minutes’ drive away, Vagator is next door, and Assagao’s restaurants are about ten minutes inland. You can be at a different beach every day without spending your holiday in traffic.

It also means our team is close. Every one of our homes is run by us, not just listed by us, and with the homes this near each other, someone can be at your door quickly if the Wi-Fi drops or the geyser sulks.

Our other three homes are in Vagator (Drift and Bling) and Assagao (Starry), for guests who want those neighbourhoods specifically. Anjuna, Vagator or Assagao: which suits your group compares the three.

Getting here

North Goa is easier to reach than it used to be. Mopa airport, the newer of Goa’s two, is in the north itself, about 45 minutes’ drive from Anjuna. Dabolim, the older airport, is further south, about an hour and a quarter away. If you have a choice of flights, Mopa saves you around half an hour in the car.

When to come

The main season runs from late September to April, once the rains have eased. The monsoon runs from about mid-June to mid-September. It is green, quiet and dramatic, and a villa with its own pool is a very good place to watch the rain.

Choosing your base in the north

Once you have settled on North Goa, the useful questions are simpler:

  • How many of you are there? Our homes sleep from two guests in a one-bedroom apartment to ten in a villa or penthouse.
  • How private do you want the water? Eleven of our homes have a pool or jacuzzi that belongs to your group alone; the other twenty-one share a pool within their complex. Private pool, private jacuzzi or shared pool explains the difference honestly.
  • Quiet or colourful? Our private-pool villas are the quiet version. Our pop-art apartments and villas are the loud one.

Ask us

Tell us your dates and how many of you there are, and we will tell you which of our homes are free and which one we would pick for you. See all our properties, or message us on WhatsApp and a real person on our team will answer.
